Annual Parish Council meeting

Democratic Period

Ten-minute period prior to the Council meeting for members of the public to raise issues or comment on agenda items.

  • To elect a Chairman for 2023-24 and sign the declaration of acceptance of office
  • To elect a Vice-Chairman for 2023-24 and sign the declaration of acceptance of office
  • To receives apologies for absence.
  • To receive disclosures of interests or grants of dispensation
  • To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 20th March 2023
  • Matters arising from the last meeting
  • To confirm the Councillors roles and responsibilities for the coming year

Planning, Footpaths and Rights of Way Liaison, Transport Advisor, HMS Cattistock Liaison, DAPTC representative, To confirm the membership of the Community Space working party

  • General Power of Competence

To confirm that Frome Valley Parish Council continues to meet the criteria for the GPC, and to resolve to continue to exercise the power.

    1. To consider the Annual Insurance renewal 2023-24
    2. To consider the report of the Internal Auditor for 22-23
  • To approve the Certificate of Exemption 22-23
  1. To approve the Annual Governance Statement for 22-23
  2. To approve the Statement of Accounts 22-23
  3. To authorise payments for goods and services received since last meeting including the insurance renewal for 23-24
  • To reaffirm Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and Code of Conduct
  • To review bank mandates, SO and DD
  1. To consider the remaining policies not completed at the March meeting.
  2. To agree the purchase of Coronation mugs

    1. To consider all planning applications in circulation
    2. To note development decisions received since the last meeting or other planning matters.
  • Highways –To receive highways reports.
    1. To consider the Definitive map changes at Wraxall
  • Footpaths & Rights of Way- To receive an update from the Rights of Way Liaison Officer
  • Correspondence – to receive items of correspondence.
  • A request to adopt the Kiosk at Chilfrome
  • Parish reports: Cattistock, Frome St Quintin and Chilfrome

  • To confirm meeting dates for the coming year and items for the next meeting
