Area of Administration

The area administered by Frome Valley Parish Council incorporates the historical ecclesiastical parishes of Cattistock, Frome St Quintin and Chilfrome.  Each of the three constituent parishes is represented on the Parish Council.

The part of Dorset covered by the Frome Valley Parish Council is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) within the beautiful rural heart of West Dorset about 10 miles (16Km) North of Dorchester, the county town of Dorset.  The area is bounded by the A37 road to the East and the A356 to the West.  The Council takes its name from the River Frome that runs through the valley, and hence the Parish area, from North to South..  The area administered is an intrinsic part of the famous author Thomas Hardy’s “Wessex”.
